Lightest Double Stroller
When looking for a light double stroller the weight and dimensions are important factors to consider. Choosing one that's easy to maneuver and compact when not in use will make it easier to fit into the trunk of your car, and to maneuver through airport security and other foreign streets.
The best lightweight strollers have a simple, easy fold that lets them stand on their own. This reduces stress on the parent's body. Several also have a wide selection of seating options and can accommodate infant car seat carriers.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
Designed for the family traveling. Compact and light weight, it has an easy one-handed fold. All-terrain wheels, front suspension and multi-position reclining seats can will accommodate children as heavy as 50 lbs. The tray for parents and children and a large storage basket and a 3-tiered canopy with windows that peek out at the sun provide maximum protection.
The Cloud was awarded one of the lowest marks in our quality tests because it has a weak seat, made of hard plastic, and a style that appears outdated. It's also more expensive than other strollers that are lighter. This makes it a poor option for parents looking for the cheapest option.
Although it's not the tiniest double stroller, it does have enough features that are worth a look. The swiveling wheels make it easy to maneuver it on flat surfaces. It can also jump curbs without much effort. The low handle of the Cloud is a disadvantage but it's at knee level and isn't adjustable. It's not a comfortable thing to push with your legs suspended in the air like that, and it doesn't help that it lacks padding.
During our testing, we discovered that the Cloud was simple to set up and open. Close it is a little more difficult. You must slide the slider, and then press the large white button. This can be quite a hassle especially if you're juggling kids while you do it.
The Cloud comes with a small but deep storage basket that will accommodate a medium-sized diaper bag. The basket is a bit narrow, and you may need to put something in it to reach the back. The Cloud includes a parent tray and a child tray each with two cup holders. However, both are too narrow for larger cups or bottles.
Kolcraft is an established family business that has been in existence since 1946. The first products they made included diapers and crib pads and now they manufacture a wide range of baby products like highchairs and infant car seats, strollers and toys. The company is located in Chicago and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight is a lightweight double stroller with a minimalist style that's ideal for travel. It weighs only 18 lbs and is lighter than some single strollers. It folds flat to make it easy to carry and store. It also has independently reclined seats, large all-weather SPF 50 sun visors that have large windows with peekaboos and under-seat storage bags. The visors are adjustable to fit kids of various heights. It also has a parking brake that is linked in one step and is Disney-sized approved.
The swivel wheel feature of Jeep is also great for maneuvering over bumps and uneven terrain. The stroller does not accept car seats, so your little ones should be at least 6+ months old and have good neck control to be able to ride in the front seat. It does have an attractive, three-panel sun canopy, however each seat comes with its own snack tray, as well as parent cupholders.
Valco Baby Snap Duo Trend is a different incredibly light side by side stroller. It's heavier than Kolcraft Cloud Plus, at 23 lbs. However, it's narrower and thinner (26.5 inches wide!) It's got a lot of exquisite features that make it perfect for travel. It's a simple fold, is extremely maneuverable and can be tucked away in trunks and overhead compartments of airplanes easily.
Similar to the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double and Mountain Buggy Nano Duo, the Joovy Kooper X2 is another tri-fold, ultralight double stroller. It's similar to the Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS but has a few key differences. It's also slightly more expensive, but it offers greater maneuverability and an extra sun canopy. It also has a convenient carry strap that can hold children up to 44 pounds per seat.
Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+
Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is a stroller that is light with lots of features. It's not just light at 13 pounds but also comes with plenty of storage in the form of child and parent cup holders, a sippy cup for children pocket as well as a parent storage compartment, and more. This stroller is also able to fit a child's car seat and features a brake that flips. This stroller is designed to expand as your child grows. It can be transformed from a baby stroller to a toddler stroller by attaching car seat adapters (sold separately) and it's suitable for children aged 6 months and older.
Another thing to consider about this stroller is that it only runs on swivel wheels and doesn't have any locking capabilities therefore it may not be the best option for rocky or sloping terrain. It is able to maneuver well on sidewalks that are paved and other smooth surfaces, however, so it's still a great choice for most families.
pushchair twin is among the lightest double strollers that has large features in an elegant, compact design. It folds easily with one hand and stored in the garage or trunk. It can also be used as a travel stoller, and is compatible with no additional adapters with most car seats.
The Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is unique from other strollers for travel because it has two separate seats that can hold up to 100 lbs. The seats have individual leg rests, as well as three-panel canopies that include the ability to flip out sunvisors and a peekaboo window.
The seats are padded to ensure your child's comfort. They also come with a 5-point safety harness that can be adjusted to three different height positions. Each has a built-in infant cushion, which is perfect for infants. Parents will love the cup for both parents and children, as well as the holders, cell phone holder, and a large storage basket. The stroller is also able to be fitted with the Yoyo+ Board, which transforms it into an e-bike.
Joovy X2 Kooper
The Kooper X2 is an excellent choice for parents who want a lightweight double stroller that can hold two children. The sling-style seats are comfortable and provide a similar amount of headroom, allowing kids to sit together. Contrary to other strollers with side-by-side seating this one Kooper X2 offers a fully reclined seat that's ideal for napping. Its recline mechanism is easy to use but doesn't go completely flat. Children who are taller might find they have an unbalanced leg when they sit in a reclined position. It also comes with a large canopy which we found to be superior at blocking out sun than some other options in our best double strollers review.
The stroller is light enough to move through door frames which was a major issue for us with some other models we tried. It folds quickly and its handlebars sit close to the ground for easy carrying. The only drawback is its limited storage space, which feels tight when stuffed with things for kids.
Joovy is a family-owned business is a pioneer in the design of functional, innovative and high-quality baby products. In our lab tests, we look at multiple factors in order to determine the user-friendliness of a double stroller. This includes the ease with which it is possible to fold and set up, how to adjust the safety harness, and how to open and close brakes. We also carry and lift the strollers folded as if they were being placed in a trunk and how to set up and remove a car seat, if it is needed. We also assessed the durability and strength of the stroller and also whether each model has a parent tray which can accommodate both child trays.
The Joovy Kooper X2 received the highest score in our Strollers Test Program due to its user-friendliness. It also got the top score in our most recent guide to the top double strollers. Its user-friendly design features an easy-to-use, tilt-free recline with one hand and a canopy that rotates to the side for shade and has ventilation mesh that you can see through when it's tilted. There are also individual kid trays with built-in cup holders, zipper pockets for parents as well as a huge storage basket.
